Stamp-a-faire 2014

This has been so much fun. It was a major challenge to get so many projects finished in such a short amount of time. I must admit that if I hadn't, more or less, duplicated the projects from the amazingly talented team I never would have finished. It takes me so much time to get the creative juices flowing but it is starting to come back. For the last year and a half a little bit of depression, from the loss of my dad, has kept creativity at bay. I made a few attempts at blogging but it just never seemed to be the same. The last couple of months have been better and I am really trying to get back. I have really enjoyed this weekend and maybe a corner has been turned.

Passing Notes

I can't believe it has come to an end! The last project for Stamp-a-faire 2014!
This is my very first but it will not be my last for sure and I am already excited about next years event!

My grand kids teachers will most likely be seeing some of these throughout the year. Very fitting for a teacher. A gift card to Hobby Lobby or Starbucks would fit nicely.

Retro Rainbows

This will be a project that will be made many times over. Fast and Fun!

Rad Ad

I think this may be my favorite card. The bold colors and all the different shapes... Oh so much fun!!

Layered Stencils

Toward the end of this era is when I was born. I absolutely love the music!
The Temptations, The Supremes, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Aretha... They are all on my iPhone. Woodstock would have been an awesome experience!

Mock Mosaics

Embossing paste is a very fun medium to play with. My next online order is going to include some white paste. The only kind I have right now is translucent and I can't seem to find it around my town.

Faux Frescoes

I was finally able to make the cards for this era after a very bumpy start.
Sticky my palm in the wet ink and smearing it was how I started my Stamp-a-faire experience but things did get better.

Vintage Patterns

Well if I have figured correctly I think I am half way done with the Stamp-a-faire challenges. (I skipped the timer and Ancient Rome challenges but will go back and finish them) I really need to kick it in to high gear. Even if I don't have time to get them all done before the deadline I will finish them ALL!

Felt Corsage

After making this corsage (hair pin) I have decided I positively do not have any kind of future as a floral designer. It took me for---ever to wrap these flowers.

I absolutely love the flower and leaf dies and for sure the stamp set is divine! I will be adding them to cards for sure but no more corsages for me. lol

Sparkle & Shine

I have always steered far away from glitter other than Stickles and glitter pens or Wink of Stella.
I feel the same about both glitter and embossing powder. (they blow all over the place and you can never completely get it all cleaned up) After today, with this technique and recently finding out about coffee filters, my feelings have changed and I may be using them more often.

Rhinestone Designs

WOW I really loved all the bling involved with this era.
A little more 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon was added to the supplies from the 1920's box.

A Little Needlework

One of the very first crafts that I became obsessed with was counted cross stitch. All through my high school years and into my adult years I loved cross stitching. That was until my daughter was expecting our first grand child and I found the power of machine embroidery. You could plug into a program any cross stitch pattern and the machine would do it for you and I never looked back. This was a wonderful blast from the past.

I had donated all my floss a few years ago and twine I found is too thick so the only string I had small enough was this variegated. I added a Tag Sale #8 die cut along with some of the contents from the Regency Era box for this card.

Antique Embossing

It is after 2 a.m. here so this is the last project for the night and I will be back at it tomorrow afternoon.

I am not sure if I didn't let the walnut stain ink dry long enough or if my gold embossing powder is just too slick but I could not get the stain to stay. The card still turned out nice if I do say so myself.
Here is the mess after just a few projects.

Wax Seals Envelope

This is a continuation of my previous post but it had to have its own url for the inlinks line up

Wax Seals

This technique brought back so many memories from childhood. No I am not old enough to remember the Renaissance era. (even though some days I feel like it) I remember my mom having the wax sticks and metal presses to make these seals and I used to love playing around with them.

Along with all the contents of the Renaissance box I added some beautiful blue ribbon.

Velvet Stamping

First project for the day is now under my belt.
I used some purple velvet from Hobby Lobby along with Royal Velvet cardstock and the goodies from the Renaissance era box. I am really enjoying reading all the wonderful information from each era.
Since I had to work today and missed the start of all the festivities I was planning on working the eras in order when I came home but you know what they say about the best laid plans...
This is what happened to the start of my first project.
My mom came into my craft room and laid some puzzles she had gotten for the grand kids on top of my wet embossing paste covered paper. Then while I was stamping this border I laid the side of my hand in the ink before it had a chance to dry. It's all good, I moved on and will come back later.

Let the FUN begin

Stamp-a-faire has already kicked off but unfortunately here in Nebraska I am getting ready for work.
There will still be much fun to be had when I return so no worries.
Here are a couple photos of my craft room before the tornado hits.
(not that it is really organized to begin with)

I wish everyone loads of fun today!!

3D Organizer

Oh I have to say this is my favorite project lately!!
It is a 3D Organizer with a Drawer from the Silhouette Store.
The paper used is from the pad called "Artist" from Paper House.
It is such a favorite that there are now 4 of them in my stash!!
I also used my Silhouette to sketch the little headshot that Betty designed for me over at Simply Betty Stamps.

Cover Plate Negatives

This week the Make it Monday challenge is to use the negatives from your cover plates.  Unfortunately I do not have a PTI cover plate so I used the next best thing....the Framed Friends Die. The sentiment is from the Banner Sentiments stamp set. The card is in honor of the Stamp-a-faire celebration this Saturday. Who else is excited???

This is the card I made for the challenge last week but was not exactly thrilled with it and did not get it entered in time. I used the Clock Face die and the Hello Friend stamp set.

Fun with SVG kits

It was so much fun creating these projects from SVG Cuts.
You may have seen both of these on facebook also.
This first one is from the Dress Shop svg kit.
I used 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon to make a beautiful accented skirt.
This second project was intended for my mom on Mother's Day but I went a different route.
It is from the Surf Shack svg kit.
The wonderful flower was make using crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.
